Pelecanus Fire Ecology advances science-based, holistic management of natural and cultural resources across all stages of wildland fire. From proactive pre-fire planning to post-fire ecological recovery, our program works to build resilient ecosystems and communities through education, training, and practice. We aim to increase the fire literacy of conservation land and resource managers in California. Through the intentional application of prescribed fire, we support sensitive species management, restore native habitats, and protect irreplaceable cultural landscapes.
